Christian Casey is a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at FU Berlin, who works on both the Closing the Gap in Non-Latin Script Data, where he and his team research sustainability in online digital humanities, and the Zodiac Project, where he is responsible for the Zodiac Glossary. Christian also teaches a course on best practices for digital humanities projects and consults with researchers to improve the free online dissemination of humanistic research materials. Aside from these projects, he also researches the evolution of Egyptian handwritten scripts using computational and statistical approaches.

Vita

Christian completed a BA in Classics at UT Austin (2008) and received a doctorate in Egyptology at Brown University (2020) with a dissertation on the history and challenges of the Egyptian demotic script. He has since worked at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World in New York (since 2019) and the Freie Universität in Berlin (since 2021).
